Fabricated Stories

These images combine electronically colored antique portraits with personal photographs of contemporary scenes. They use the frame as a stage, creating a figure/ground relationship to establish narratives that address issues of family and relationships, still maintaining the dreamlike quality that overlaps with memory.

The images are assembled from fragments to create the depth and appearance of the lens based photograph. The project has expanded to include images from my own family to establish similar connections between the  exterior and interior landscapes. These contemporary images explore similar themes of male/female and family dynamics.
